The sun shone early on our sabbath day and we enjoyed once again filling multiple rows at church with family. After church and into the night we celebrated the Party of Champions - which was the name given the affair by our master of language and all things entertaining - Peter.
There was the fashionista.
There was gaming.
There were phone calls to be made.
There were fireworks
There were fireflies being caught
There were oohs and aahs.
There was chill-laxing.
And there was food. A feast of plank grilled salmon and all those things that should go with it. What a delightful weekend of gathering and fun.
Home is where the heart is
and this weekend has indeed been a Party of Champions

Scone Saturday
To make the festivities even better Paul Sarah Brianna & Tristin joined Robert & Laura our naperville neighbors and came over for scones. it was crazy chaotic with plenty of food and kids. Scones and Chocolate chip cookies were the meal - it doesn't get much better.
Centennial Beach
On a HOT HOT day in July few things are more refreshing than cooling off in the local pool. Downtown Naperville has concerted an old quarry into a pool. It is huge - A large sand beach, located next to the shallow end, is perfect for toddlers and digging in the sand. The Beach is within an abandoned, double quarry alongside the DuPage River. The facility covers almost 6 acres (24,000 m²) of land with a full two acres (8,000 m²) or 6.2 million gallons of open water from lake Michigan, all tested, re-circulated and chlorinated on site - to quote wikkipedia.
A few of us went over and cooled off exquisitely well. The pool is about six blocks from the house making it very convenient.

Cantigny
Saturday was an ideal summer vacation day.
It started early as Brigham drove to Mpls and back in the day to join in the celebration of Sean and Eden Clune's wadding. Here on the home front the world was set right as mackey returned from her EFY with Tori at Utah State.
here at home with sunshine and heat a group of us after saturday morning pancakes drove over in Cantigny - climbed on tanks and went through the museum. The museum is a great memorial to those who have gone to war for us and gives you a sense of gratitude and appreciation for those who have fought for our freedoms. Very appropriate for the fourth of july.
in the meantime Laura stopped by with a supply of sugar coated cereal - Hmmmm
