A smartly written novel by the author who brought us Mr Penumbra’s 24-hour bookstore. The latter delighted me , and i brought significant expectations to this. I was not disappointed!  Set in Silicon Valley with a  software code writing protagonist who develops an unanticipated passion for bread making - specifically sourdough bread  making. Her involvement with a ‘starter’ with a history leads her to pursue her passion ; and not necessarily the one you first identify. 

I enjoy this author.
